The integration marks another step in GRID’s partnership with Riot Games, using official match data to build an elite fan-facing product for League of Legends esports fans.
A community favourite on LoL Esports with more than 1.7M players having engaged with Crystal Ball and Pick ‘Ems during the recent MSI, Crystal Ball challenges fans to predict how players and teams will perform across a range of in-game stats, earning points for correct predictions as the tournament progresses.
GRID, as the official esports data platform, powered the new ‘Stats Tracking’ hub inside Riot’s League of Legends Esports Crystal Ball prediction game. Launched for the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational, the integration embeds official match data and stats visualizations directly into the fan experience through the game client enabling seamless tournament tracking.
In addition to delivering features such as leaderboard widgets, Crystal Ball Recap Components and Stat Spotlights, GRID’s Stats Feed API also supplies the data behind every Crystal Ball question, including KDA, win rates, Elder Dragons slayed, damage per game, objectives completed, and the most first bloods.

Because GRID’s data comes directly from the game servers, every Crystal Ball statistic is powered by verifiable, fast data straight from the source, giving fans a reliable and accurate way to track their predictions throughout the tournament.
“At Riot, esports fans have always been at the center of what we do. Crystal Ball is a great example of what’s possible when you listen to the community and apply official data where fans are already engaged. The same data that has been used across integrity, broadcast innovation and more, is now enhancing the experience for LoL fans in real time.” – Doug Watson, Head of Business Strategy for Global Esports at Riot Games.
