GRID Data Access Terms

By joining the Cloud9 x JetBrains x Devpost Hackathon (“Hackathon”) and accessing data provided by GRID esports GmbH (“GRID”), you (“Participant” or “you”) agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Scope of Services

GRID provides access to selected esports Data Assets through the GRID Open Platform, which includes:

  1. the Central Data Feed (static data: titles, tournaments, teams, series), and
  2. The Historical Data Feed (post-game data via the GRID Historical API).

 

For the Hackathon, GRID will provide historical esports Data Assets only, limited to:

  1. League of Legends, and 
  2. VALORANT 

and only for the specific series selected by GRID (please refer to the Hackathon page for more details)

Access is provided through GRID Open Access and the GRID Historical Data API, subject to account creation (up to 48 hours after registration) and daily rate limits.
Data is accessed exclusively through GRID’s official APIs.

All data originates from the game servers of the respective rights holders and is provided under GRID’s licenses with them.
Your access is limited strictly to Hackathon use.

2. Permitted Use

Participants may:

  1. access GRID Data only through the official APIs and tools provided for the Hackathon;
  2. query static and historical Data Assets;
  3. use GRID Data solely for developing, testing, and submitting a Hackathon project;
  4. include limited excerpts of GRID Data in their submission for demonstration.
  5. access documentation and support resources provided via Open Access.

 

API usage limits apply.

3. Prohibited Use

Participants may not:

  1. use GRID Data for any commercial purpose;
  2. copy, download, scrape, export, redistribute, or publish GRID Data (raw or derivative);
  3. access or attempt to access any non-authorized content or APIs;
  4. attempt to modify, extract, reverse engineer, or alter GRID’s systems or source code;
  5. upload malware, disrupt the platform, or harm GRID’s infrastructure;
  6. share login credentials or API keys;
  7. use GRID Data in connection with illegal, obscene, offensive, defamatory, or politically radical content;
  8. violate third-party rights or applicable laws.

 

GRID may restrict access automatically if rate limits are exceeded.

4. Ownership & Rights

All GRID Data remains the exclusive property of GRID and/or its rights holders.
Participants receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license for Hackathon use only.
No intellectual property rights are transferred.
If GRID’s rights holder licenses expire, Participant access may also end immediately.

Access to GRID Data is conditioned upon the Participant meeting all Hackathon eligibility requirements, including the organizers’ legal participation rules and any restrictions related to sanctioned countries.

5. Termination

GRID may revoke or restrict access at any time if:

  1. the Participant breaches these Terms,
  2. uses GRID Data outside the Hackathon purpose,
  3. attempts misuse of the APIs or platform.

 

Upon termination or end of the Hackathon, Participants must immediately delete all GRID Data.

6. Platform Use & “As-Is” Disclaimer

GRID provides the GRID Open Platform “as is”, with reasonable technical security measures but without warranties.
GRID is not responsible for hardware, connectivity, or third-party costs.

Please note that our website may not work properly if all cookies are disabled. If you do delete the cookies in your browser, they will be placed again after your consent when you visit our website again.

7. Acceptance

By submitting your registration and accessing GRID Data, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
